CHURCH OF THE LAKES

Senior Pastor: Jon Lucas

We welcome you in the name of Christ!

Prayer Circle in the Sanctuary 9:30am

Coffee Fellowship 9:30am-10:00am

Worship Service 10:00am-11:30am

I want to take a moment to update everyone on what our Sunday services will look like over the next few weeks.

On Sunday, May 24 and May 31st (weather permitting) we will have Drive-in Church with live worship starting at 10:00am and if you choose to continue listening from home the Pastor Jon's message will start at approximatley 10:20am on Facebook Live.

On Sunday, June 7th we will start having the service inside the church again.  While we are still working out the details of what that looks like, and trying to determine if you will have multiple services, please rest assured that we have everyone's safety in mind.  We will update the website and send out emails once any decisions are made and make you aware of seating arrangements, exit strategies etc.

Another exciting piece of news that I want to share with you is that our website, which is 15 years old, will be upgraded so that we will be able to stream live through it and so that it will become mobile friendly.

May the Lord bless and keep each of you!

Pastor Jon

Serving Opportunity through Shepherd's Heart Prison Ministry

Lynn Springer, the director of Shepherd Heart Ministry reached out to us to see if anyone from our church might be interested in sending notes to the juveniles who are incarcerated at the Marion County Jail.  She said that they don't have to be long, just a Bible verse, an encouragement card or a personal testimony; anything to encourage the kids.  Another way that your family can help is by buying a roll of stamps and placing them on blank envelopes so that the boys are able to write to their families.  If you would like to participate in either way, please feel free to drop off your notes and/or envelopes at the church and we will make sure that Lynn gets them.

ON GOING COLLECTIONS FOR LOCAL MISSIONS

We collect boxes of spaghetti for St. Vincent DePaul.

We collect any and all canned foods or boxed food items for the Lord's Locker.

We collect cans of green beans for the Brown County Schools Weekend Backpack Program!

Are you interested in feeding the hungry?  If so, then join us when we travel to Indianapolis each month to serve a warm home cooked meal to hundreds of men, women and families in need.  On the 4th Saturday of each month we need donations of the following items to make this ministry a success.  We will take bottled water, dozens of hard-boiled eggs, 8-10 pounds of baked beans and 13 trays of warm macaroni and cheese.  Once we round everything up we meet at the church at 7:45am and head up to the parking lot of Roberts Park United Methodist Church in Indianapolis where we serve and visit with more than 200 people in need.  We would love some more people to get involved with this ministry and many others at the church.  If you would like more information please contact John Bartley at johnbart302@gmail.com or call him at 317-513-6038.

If you are dropping off items for any of the 4 collections during the week you might give us a call first to make sure someone is at the church to accept your dontation.

Thank you for helping!
